Custom harvest crews are heading toward Montana and the Dakotas after battling drought and freeze damage throughout Kansas. While southern wheat yields have been disappointing, crews expect much stronger production as harvest moves north. “Between the drought and freeze, we’re probably at least ten to 15 bushels below normal,” said Worthington, Minnesota-based custom cutter Paul Paplow.
