U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar outlined her vision for growing Minnesota’s farm and rural economy during gubernatorial campaign stops in Moorhead and East Grand Forks. Klobuchar said the state’s agriculture industry faces significant challenges but must remain focused on creating new opportunities. “We know there’s a lot of headwinds right now, and I don’t want to minimize them, but they can’t be an excuse,” said Klobuchar. “To me, it means looking at new markets, domestic and international.” Sustainable aviation fuel was highlighted as a major growth opportunity. The Klobuchar platform also calls for the creation of a Minnesota innovation network to connect businesses with universities and organizations like the Agricultural Utilization Research Institute. Klobuchar also advocated for continued investment in rural infrastructure, including roads, bridges and broadband.
