With wet and humid conditions, the risk of scab in small grains has increased. According to the latest NDSU Crop and Pest Report, the risk is high statewide for susceptible varieties. For moderately susceptible varieties, the greatest risk is in the northern third of North Dakota. With canola blooming, NDSU says the crop is primed for white mold infections. The hot weather will slow down the threat, but the risk remains high as long as there is rain in the forecast.
