Rain has been seen in southeastern South Dakota, but State Climatologist Laura Edwards believes more moisture is needed as crops enter a critical stage of growth. “They’re at a tipping point; we’ve already seen some impacts in alfalfa production with the first cutting much lower than average.” Edwards said corn and soybeans have also been stressed.
