The U.S. Department of Agriculture is launching a $500 million program aimed at expanding domestic fertilizer production. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins said the program will prioritize projects that are shovel-ready. “We want fertilizer plants built in America. We want fertilizer produced in America and delivered to American farmers,” Rollins said. USDA says the initiative is designed to strengthen the domestic fertilizer supply chain and improve long-term availability for producers.
