Total Farm Marketing market analyst Bryan Doherty said wheat was the standout in Tuesday’s USDA report, with lower-than-expected acreage and stocks. “All wheat, 42.7 million acres, compared to the average estimate of 43.8 (million) so that’s a little bit supportive there, that’s about 1.1 million acres less. Wheat quarterly stocks were 15 million bushels less than the pre-report estimate.” Doherty says traders are now focused on the weather.
