Widespread storm damage has affected parts of South Dakota and North Dakota. Dairyland Seeds District Sales Manager Keith Rekow reports that central South Dakota took the biggest hit in last Monday’s storms. Winds of 103 miles per hour were recorded at a mesonet station near Highmore. Despite the destruction, Rekow said many crops are holding up. “For the most part, the crop has survived; it’s in an early enough stage in most cases; beans flattened out, but the growing point is above ground, and they’re very resilient.”
