Variable weather conditions are making fertility decisions more challenging. NDSU Extension Soil Specialist Tom Peters stated “we’ve been dealing with anything from very dry conditions to very wet conditions depending on where you’re at in the state, and from a fertility standpoint that comes with a lot of challenges.” Peters said soil tests and tissue samples can help farmers determine whether additional fertilizer applications are needed.
