Central Minnesota farmer and veterinarian Harlan Anderson says abundant rainfall has produced excellent crop conditions but has complicated haymaking efforts. “Our crops look very good,” Anderson said. “We’ve had enough rain, but we’re having a hard time finding a stretch of weather long enough to get hay cut, dried and baled.” Anderson said some hay was cut in May, but yields were disappointing. Since then, frequent rainfall has prevented additional harvest activity. “We decided to wait, and then the monsoon season came,” he said.
