Pioneer field agronomist Larry Lunder says recent heat and moisture have accelerated crop development but have also increased weed pressure. “Weeds really started to take off,” he said. “Especially where there’s no residual herbicide laid down and producers have been trying to do everything post-emergence.” He added that wheat conditions remain favorable, with limited reports of disease pressure, while herbicide and fungicide applications continue in canola and wheat fields.
