The Minnesota Republican and DFL nominating conventions were both held over the weekend. On the tenth ballot, businessman Kendall Qualls won the GOP endorsement for governor. House Speaker Lisa Demuth came in second with 39 percent of the vote and it’s uncertain if she will go onto the primary. At the DFL convention, Senator Amy Klobuchar easily won the nomination for governor. For the U.S. Senate seat, Minnesota Republicans endorsed former Navy Seal Adam Schwarze. However, former sports reporter Michele Tofoya will stay in the race. Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan earned the endorsement in the Senate race at the DFL convention. However, Congresswoman Angie Craig decided to skip the endorsement and will face off with Flanigan in the August primary.
