In the view of StoneX Vice President of Fertilizer Josh Linville, fertilizer markets have remained surprisingly resilient despite major disruptions tied to the Strait of Hormuz. “It really goes to show how well this market can work when it is stressed,” Linville said. So far, North American fertilizer supplies have been sufficient to meet demand despite fears of shortages. However, Linville believes high fertilizer prices are already reducing application rates.
