North Dakota State University has appointed Dr. Guillermo Scaglia as interim associate director for Extension, effective July 7. In the role, Scaglia will oversee Extension agents and educators statewide while helping lead programs focused on agriculture and natural resources, family and community wellness, and 4-H youth development. Scaglia currently serves as head of NDSU’s Department of Animal Sciences, where he has guided strategic planning, budget development, and recruitment efforts. NDSU Vice President for Agriculture Greg Lardy said Scaglia’s leadership and experience will be an asset during the transition. Before joining NDSU, Scaglia held leadership positions at Louisiana State University and brings a background in Extension, research, and statewide program management. NDSU Agriculture has also launched an internal search for an interim head of the Animal Sciences Department.
