Field activity is picking up in portions of northwest Minnesota. “A lot of the wheat’s been planted or almost done planting,” said Conner Reinitz, BASF business rep. “Some guys are putting in soybeans right now, but a majority are moving into the corn planting stage.” Conditions have been more variable in northeast North Dakota. BASF Business Sales Representative Scott Hammond said wetter conditions from last fall continue slowing progress in some areas. “They’re really waiting for a lot more frost to still come out, and for things to dry up a little bit,” Hammond said. “Then you get to areas with just a little drier condition and they’re pushing close to 100 percent go-time.” Hammond added that weed control is quickly becoming a priority. “We just can’t get behind; sprayers will be rolling shortly with residuals and burndown applications.”
