Three USDA employees are among the 2026 honorees of the federal government’s Samuel J. Heyman Service to America award. Curt Van Tassell, Paul VanRaden and Ransom Baldwin are credited with helping to revolutionize dairy cattle breeding. This award, which is also known as the ‘Sammie,’ honors career federal employees.
