South Dakota State University College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Science’s new Distinguished Alumni Award went to Joel DeRouchey and Lloyd Metzger. DeRouchey is a swine nutritionist at Kansas State University and co-owner of Primo Feeds. Metzger is vice president of quality and technical services at Valley Queen Cheese and is the former Alfred Chair of Dairy Education and director of the Midwest Dairy Food Research Committee at SDSU. Valley Queen Cheese was also honored with the SDSU Friend of CAFES Award.
