The Minnesota State FFA Officer Team from 2000-2001 was featured in the first general session at the state convention. Sarah Clemenson Betzold is the state president on the 25th anniversary team. “We were reminiscing about our camps and conferences that we used to plan, from the skits to the curriculum,” said Clemenson Betzold. Kris Poirier Zillox was the state secretary 25 years ago. “I think FFA is the perfect organization to start to develop those critical leadership skills,” said Poirier Zilliox. “In FFA, I think there is really an instilling of working hard and being a good problem solver; the leadership skills and that mindset are critical and I would hire FFA students all day long.” Clemenson Betzold is now a regional director for BASF for crop protection and seed in the Midwest. Poirier Zilliox leads a sales team for Ecolab.
