A multi-million dollar renovation is planned for the historic 4-H Building at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. “What we’re looking right now is a three-level renovation with a few touchups on the outside as well,” said Jen Skuza, Minnesota State 4-H Director. “We’ve been in the process of the quite phase of fundraising and are now launching our public campaign to bring in the rest of the resources that we will need in order for the building to come to fruition.” Two-thirds of the $35 million fundraising goal has been raised. That effort got a jump-start with a $10 million donation to the Minnesota State Fair Foundation from Kathy and Jim Cargill. Significant gifts have also been made by the Ames family, Compeer Financial, Riverview LLP and Rosen Family Foundation. The iconic white 4-H Building is 85 years old. Most of the renovations will happen immediately after this year’s fair and the goal is to have the project completed in time for the 2027 Minnesota State Fair.
