The Minnesota Corn Growers Association is calling on farmers to stay engaged as policy discussions intensify at both the state and federal levels. Senior Public Policy Director Amanda Bilek says the organization’s work now goes beyond traditional advocacy, with increased involvement in legal challenges affecting agriculture. “In the last year and a half, we’ve gotten involved in three different litigation actions, the first one was around nitrogen and nitrates, the second one is on pesticide-treated seeds, and the third is on agricultural drainage.” MCGA is also monitoring proposals that could limit access to crop protection tools. “Once we start enacting bans at the state level on federally registered products, we could see pieces like this restrict various access to crop protection tools for farmers.”
