The April WASDE report didn’t have many changes to supply or demand. Farm management analyst Kent Thiesse says the adjustments to the market year average prices for corn, soybeans, and wheat will lower the estimates for ARC and PLC payments. “The good news for farmers is the payment for 2025, because it was retroactive, they get the higher of PLC or ARC-county so if you’re in a county with really high yields, you might end up getting a PLC payment. If you were in a county that had below benchmark yields, you likely would get an ARC-county payment. Most farmers will get some payment for corn, soybeans, and wheat, the way it looks right now.”
