An effort to modernize farm program reporting is being piloted in Grand Forks County, North Dakota. North Dakota Farm Service Agency Director Brad Thykeson says the county is one of eight nationwide selected to test a new acreage certification process, including updates to how Form 578 data is populated and managed. The updated system is designed to reduce in-person visits and make the process more user-friendly. “And that’s what we’re trying to work towards, making it more streamlined so that producers don’t have to wait in line, or that they can do this certification on their time, and also make it user-friendly for their county employees.” Grand Forks County was selected in part for its diversity in crops and land use.
