With all the moisture much of the region has received, farmers could be faced with significant weed pressure. “This is going to be another one of these years where we will have these dense mats of kochia,” said Joe Ikley, weed specialist, NDSU Extension. The excess moisture also means more winter annual weeds. “Things like horseweed or marestail. If we think about further west in the state, that’s where we’re going to see something like narrowleaf hawksbeard.”
