Rising diesel and fertilizer prices tied to the conflict with Iran are adding pressure to farm budgets this spring. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, speaking on Fox Business, said the administration is closely monitoring input costs while working to maintain supplies. “We are acutely aware and very, very, very focused on the cost of inputs, fertilizer in America, fortunately, because of the President’s energy dominance agenda, LNGs actually came down over the last month since the conflict because of what we’ve been able to produce in America.” She said USDA is also taking steps to support farmers facing higher costs. “Food security is national security, and the president completely backs us up.”
