CHS Ag Services is in recovery mode after Wednesday’s fire destroyed its woodhouse grain elevator at Warren, Minnesota. Senior Director of Operations Ryan Anderson said the official cause of the fire has not been finalized, but it was likely an electrical issue. The facility remains shut down. “We’re working through the rest of the fire department processes to make sure everything’s safe, first and foremost, before we even think about starting up operations,” said Anderson. “We’ll have a good plan in place. I don’t know that we’ll be able to receive grain in the next week, but hopefully in the coming weeks we’ll be ready to go.” Anderson said the Warren Fire Department responded to the blaze within a matter of minutes. He also praised the support the cooperative has received from the community and the CHS corporate office.
