Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Wednesday the start of implementing the latest Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The update aims to guide nutrition policy and support healthier food choices nationwide. Secretary Rollins said the guidelines will be applied “through rulemaking and education,” while Secretary Kennedy emphasized that, “in the months ahead, we will roll out a steady series of actions to reform procurement, to realign incentives and to expand access to healthy, affordable whole foods nationwide.” The new efforts are expected to influence federal nutrition programs, school meals, and public health initiatives, ensuring Americans have better access to nutritious foods while promoting long-term health outcomes.
