Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins celebrated the completion of a new sterile fly dispersal facility in Edinburg, Texas, designed to protect livestock and agriculture from the New World Screwworm. The facility expands USDA’s ability to release sterile flies along the southern border and within the United States. “This administration and this president are wholly focused on prioritizing how important this issue is.” The Edinburg facility was completed ahead of schedule and under budget, and USDA officials say they will continue working with state and international partners to safeguard the United States from the screwworm.
