BNSF Auctions Shuttle Train Contracts

BNSF Railway sold 34 yearlong shuttle train contracts by auction for nearly $33 million. The winning bids ranged from $800,000 to $1.3 million and averaged just under $1 million. Assuming an average of 2.5 turns per month, a $1 million yearlong shuttle contract represents about $300 per car, per trip. These results are higher than comparable results last year.
