A bipartisan coalition of veteran farm leaders and USDA officials is sounding the alarm, warning that American agriculture faces a potential ‘widespread collapse.’ The group, which includes past presidents and CEOs of the National Corn Growers Association, Renewable Fuels Association, and National Milk Producers Federation, is urging immediate action to support farmers. In a letter to House and Senate agriculture committee leaders, the 27 signatories cited rising input costs, lost export markets, weakened trade partnerships, and cuts to USDA staffing and research as key challenges. NCGA Past President Harold Wolle and Past RFA Chair Randy Doyal are two Minnesotans who signed the letter. Other national leaders on the letter include former NMPF CEO Jim Mulhern, former NCGA CEO Jon Doggett and DuPont Pioneer Past President Paul Schickler.
