In his view, the cattle industry has enjoyed huge wins in Washington, D.C. “With the One Big Beautiful Bill, there were things in there from a tax perspective that got improved,” said Schoenfeld. “A number of dollars are coming back through USDA, whether it be EQUIP and those kinds of things that were huge.” The change in the dietary guidelines was also cited. Beef demand remains very strong. “Our industry is just trying to figure out how to meet that demand? I think that is one of the things that’s really a topic of conversation this week, how do we incentivize the rancher in the United States to retain females, put more cows back out on grass, expand this cow herd a little bit and continue to supply a high-quality protein product in the meat case.”Celebrating Legislative Wins
