More Help Needed to Fill the Gap

According to a new study from American Farm Bureau Market Intel, production costs for all nine major row crops are expected to increase again in 2026. The Farmer Bridge Assistance and Emergency Commodity Assistance Programs provide short-term help, but do not close the gap between expected costs and returns. The Farm Bureau report estimates losses across agriculture topped $50 billion over the past three crop years.
