Hot Dog! Smithfield Acquires Nathan’s Famous

Smithfield Foods has agreed to purchase the Nathan’s Famous hot dog brand for $450 million. Smithfield already had an exclusive license to manufacture, distribute, market and sell Nathan’s products through retail outlets, but that agreement is scheduled to expire in 2032.
