South Dakota has a new state veterinarian and executive secretary for the South Dakota Animal Industry Board. Dr. Mendel Miller has been the assistant state veterinarian since 2009. Before that, Miller had a veterinary practice in Canton, South Dakota. Former State Veterinarian Dr. Beth Thompson left in November to take a teaching role at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.
