Soybeans may fix their own nitrogen, but a balanced fertility approach is a must. “We’ve seen a huge influx of soybean acres across the state in North Dakota, and we have to recognize that this is fundamentally changing nutrient removal from our systems in North Dakota,” said NDSU Extension Soil Science Specialist Brady Goettl.
