Adjustments Seen in Cash Rents

According to analysis from Agricultural Economic Insights, cash rental rates were higher year-over-year in North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota. The ‘I’ states of Iowa, Illinois and Indiana saw rents adjust slightly lower from 2024-to-2025. Cash rents are up 15 to 30 percent higher than five years ago. However, there are pockets in North Dakota where individual counties saw rents more than 30 percent higher than five years ago.
