The U.S. Meat Export Federation says it’s encouraged by progress in trade negotiations between the U.S. and China following last week’s meeting between President Trump and President Xi Jinping. USMEF President and CEO Dan Halstrom says removing non-tariff barriers would help restore access for U.S. pork and beef exports to China. Halstrom adds the group supports a one-year pause in port fees and encourages efforts that boost investment without increasing export costs.
