This is the 33rd day of the government shutdown, and there is no end in sight. Compeer Financial Services Vice President of Legislative Affairs Perry Aasness believes agriculture will have a full plate when the legislative logjam ends. “Farm Bill 2.0 being one, we got a lot of good things in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act back earlier this summer, but there are a lot of things that are normally in a farm bill that Congress has yet to address,” said Aasness. “The good news is it seems like both the administration and Congress are hearing clearly that something will need to be done, but again, everything is on hold until the government reopens.”
