Farmers near Dazey, North Dakota, are getting started on soybean harvest. “We’ve just got started in the last couple of days here, and the rain showers this weekend slowed us down, but we’re getting going, ” says farmer Justin Sherlock. “The beans are coming off right about at that perfect moisture, right in that 13 percent range, but they’re still borderline ready.” Sherlock says it’s been a wild year for farmers in the area. “2025 is going to be one of those years that farmers just don’t like to talk about. Not just because of the trade stuff, but we’ve had the windstorms, we’ve had the straight-line winds, we’ve had hail, we’ve had tornadoes in the area. Too much moisture, not enough moisture. You name it, we’ve had it for weather around here.”
