Cramer Blames Schumer for Shutdown

Lawmakers are pointing fingers at each other over who is to blame for the government shutdown. North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer says Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has been planning the shutdown for months. Cramer said, “we found out that Chuck Schumer had been operating for the last couple of months on the government shutdown strategy. He didn’t want to get in the trap this time of being reasonable and helping keep the government open, and then taking the heat from the left wing and running the risk of losing his leadership position, which I personally believe he will not retain next session anyway.” Cramer added he expects additional Democrats to break ranks in the coming days to help reopen the government.
