At Colfax, North Dakota, Jay Myers is reporting wide variation in the soybean yields, ranging from 30 to 60 bushels per acre. “One field you think was more, and all of a sudden it’s not there like you thought it was. The rains were so variable this summer too, you know, we were probably a little dry on some fields and maybe some fields got too wet early.” Myers is looking forward to the corn harvest, saying yields could be surprising. Alfalfa did well, “except, we had a heck of a time trying to get it up and baled without rain. I think our first cutting and we got up without rain, but everything else had rain, so it was tough getting alfalfa in good condition this year.”
