The Corteva Agriscience board of directors has unanimously approved a plan to split its seed and crop protection businesses into two companies. The name of the seed business will be SpinCo, and the crop protection side will be called New Corteva. “We did not make this decision quickly or take it lightly,” said Chuck Magro, CEO, Corteva Agriscience. “We have a history of moving before the market, and we believe we are doing so again. I want to stress, as strongly as I can, that this is not about the business six years ago, or even today. This is about tomorrow.” When each company becomes a standalone business, Magro will be the CEO for SpinCo. Corteva Board Chairman Greg Page will be the new chair of New Corteva. This split is expected to be completed in 2026.
