The Minnesota Soybean Growers Association is celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the nation’s first B2 biodiesel law. “The biodiesel industry really didn’t take off until there was actually legislation in place,” said Minnesota Biodiesel Chairman James Willers. “Minnesota passed the first biodiesel mandate or law, which led to two plants being built in Minnesota, and then it basically grew around the country from there.” In addition to biodiesel, renewable diesel has gotten a foothold in the alternative fuels market. “There’s a place for both.”
