Speaking in the Oval Office, President Donald Trump announced that tariff revenues will be used to help American farmers. “We’re going to take some of that tariff money that we made, we’re going to give it to our farmers who are, for a little while, going to be hurt until it kicks the tariffs kick in to their benefit so we’re going to make sure that our farmers are in great shape because we’re taking in a lot of money.” During the first Trump Administration, Commodity Credit Corporation funds were used to pay for a trade assistance program. In this go-round, tariff revenue will be used. “Ultimately, the farmers are going to be making a fortune, but it’s a process.”
