St. Joseph, Missouri-based Triumph Foods is suing the State of California over Proposition 12, alleging it unfairly discriminates against out-of-state pork producers. Triumph had success with a similar case challenging the Question 3 animal rights initiative in Massachusetts. Triumph Foods is a producer-owned cooperative. The list of owners includes Christensen Farms at Sleepy Eye, Minnesota and New Fashion Pork at Jackson, Minnesota.
