Murdock, Minnesota farmer Mike Yost says they’re just getting started on their dry beans and sugar beets, and the beets in particular are looking a bit disappointing. “The sugarbeet crop looks like it’s going to be below average. The dry beans have so many grounded-out spots that they’re going to come in slightly below average, too.” Yost says the corn and soybeans are still a week or so away from being ready. “The corn is seemingly a little bit behind normal, and I don’t anticipate much being picked here in September. I would guess by the end of this week we’ll see some sun taking out.”
