According to a new AccuWeather study, there has been a significant change in rainfall patterns. Annual precipitation totals have been relatively stable over the past 60 years, but there has been a big increase in the frequency of extreme rainfall events. Daily four-inch rain events have increased 70 percent since 1965. Hours per year with one inch or more of rain have nearly tripled since 1985. AccuWeather cited agriculture as one of the industries most impacted by this phenomenon.
