The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is voicing extreme concern about the latest case of New World Screwworm, less than 70 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. In a statement, NCBA CEO Colin Woodall said the organization appreciates the investment USDA has made in protecting the U.S. cattle herd. However, NCBA is asking the Agriculture Department to hold Mexico accountable and urge them to reduce animal movements that could spread the screwworm north. NCBA also wants the EPA to authorize new pesticide products to deal with the screwworm.
