The U.S. Grains Council and National Corn Growers Association hosted their Trade Academy in Fargo this past week. “International marketing is a way to use up the corn produced in this area,” reported Blair Hoseth, a Minnesota Corn Growers Association board member from Mahnomen. “That’s our goal is to move crops off the field and into the marketplace.” North Dakota Corn Growers Association Executive Director Brenda Elmer stressed the importance of trade. “There’s a lot of corn and we’re worried about where it is going. The prices are incredibly low, well below the cost of production.”
