Agristo has begun groundwork for its first U.S. potato processing facility in Grand Forks. The goal is to prepare the site foundation before winter. The Belgium-based potato processor is planning an official groundbreaking ceremony in April. Agristo’s agronomy team has already started to map out its acreage and storage needs in preparation for the 2028 opening. Between 20,000 and 23,000 acres of potatoes, split between irrigated and dryland, will be needed for the plant.
