During this week’s North Dakota Stockmen’s Association Convention, the NDSA Top Hand Award will be presented to Bowman rancher Steve Brooks. Only 28 individuals have received this honor in the 96-year history of the organization. Crighton Ranch of Squaw Gap has been chosen as the Ranch of the Year. The Honorary Membership Award will be given to two longtime industry leaders: Ray Erbele and Tim Petry. Erbele is a lifelong cattleman and longtime auction market owner. Petry is the NDSU Extension livestock marketing specialist.
