The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote this evening on a resolution allowing administration nominations to be approved in groups rather than individually. There’s a backlog of 150 pending nominees, prompting the Republicans to invoke this so-called ‘nuclear option.’ Three USDA nominations would be impacted; undersecretary nominee for farm production and conservation Richard Fordyce, undersecretary nominee for marketing and regulatory programs Dudley Hoskins and undersecretary nominee for research, education and economics Scott Hutchins.
